Whether your knife is engraved with traditional scrollwork or oak leaves and acorns every knife receives the same high level of focus. Each knife is hammer & chisel engraved with single point shading. All knives, commissioned and non-commissioned, are signed and numbered in the same manner, for example, DP150. The knife and it's number are then recorded in David's log book dating back to the early-1990's.
Due to the time-consuming nature of the engraving, certain elements such as gold inlay, handle work and stone settings will not be available on commissioned knives in order to serve customers in a timely fashion. With each Randall being unique, the engraving options will vary. Available coverage includes sides of guards, sides of butt caps and rear of butt caps. As the customer, you can specify the desired coverage, whether you want scrollwork or oak leaves and acorns. Most customers choose the coverage and leave the choice of engraving to David.
Prices are averages, which vary depending on size and configuration of knife.

Give special thought to knives with natural handle material that is prone to cracking such as ivory and horn. Changes in temperature and humidity can cause swelling and shrinkage. Shipping knives from one climate to another must be considered.
